JANE FORTH
Jane Forth is a fine artist and a naturalist influenced by the natural environment surrounding her rural Virginia home. She brings an imaginative force to her paintings in communicating the dreaminess and tranquility of the capacious vista of this rugged mountain landscape. Jane’s work reflects the atmospheric, coloristic beauty of nature. In its vision, the landscape is a collage of contrasts pristine wilderness, farmland, industry, and places where humans seek recreation or the calm of natural spaces.
Jane’s encaustic painting allows accidental discovery, revision, and innovation. She often turns to the medium of watercolor as a way of preparing for encaustic painting and believes watercolor is an immediate and fluid expression of natural subjects.
“The natural qualities of a balanced relationship of humanity within its environment become the subject of our landscape” -Jane Forth
