  • Dream-Live-Create-Share

Art is a tool used for communication, education, social transformation, spiritual, cultural, and personal exchange. As humans, we embrace artistic expression and visual storytelling as a process of non-confrontational sharing of internal and external experiences as we form, and define and preserve our culture.

SPAC offers local artists and art students opportunities to join our creative community as a resident or featured artists, member or volunteer. Artist services are made available to assist aspiring talent with the process of establishing their creative expression so they may freely support themselves.

“Becoming an Artist is not a status, an honor, a right, or a privilege. It is a voice, the soul’s calling, a safe place, and a source of liberation available to everyone, on every path, in every walk of life.

  • Frederick Harry Kahler

Frederick Harry Kahler was born in Washington, D.C. on July 26, 1942. Fred was a true Visionary Artist and one of the Founding Member of the Sperryville ARTist Cooperative.

Fred employed the timeless methodology of traditional pen and ink, without the use of magnification, to illustrate the many layers of his extremely intricate drawings. What evolved was ART infused with philosophy, mythology and mystical existence.

Recognized as a Self~Taught Artist, Kahler's drawings are in significant private collections around the globe, as well as in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and Philadelphia Museum of Art.
